Arlene Hendrix has been working in Systems Engineering and Configuration Management roles on several DHS contracts since 2008. Prior to joining the government sector, she held various engineering and project management positions of increasing responsibility in private industry, including LTV Steel, Mine Safety Appliances, and W.R. Grace Davison. Although all of these positions utilized and further developed her analytical and statistical problem-solving skills, LTV Steel provided an unusually comprehensive and rigorous training and mentoring program for statistical analysis, metrology, TQM, and what would eventually cover most of Lean Six Sigma's current techniques at the very start of her career. One of her experiments with a particularly challenging steel application will be described in this presentation, as well as some general discussion about using full factorial designs in industrial settings.

Arlene holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA from Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, and the following certifications: SSBB (ASQ), CICM (ISCM), and Software CM (CMII).
