Software Defects and Software

Reliability Assessment

Presented by Kristine Hejna

Tuesday May 24, 2016

6:30 PM Networking and Pizza

7:00 8:00 PM Program

There is no cost to attend at Vienna or Silver Spring

A lot of work has been done in the area of software defects and software reliability. This talk will go over the valuable work done in the area of software measurement for software quality and reliability.

This should be of interest to quality people interested in assessing software quality across the lifecycle, software engineers interested in improving product quality, and reliability engineers who have not seen how reliability is assessed in software.

Kristine Hejna started programming while still in high school, in 1974, when the field was not well developed and it helped to understand how computers worked.

She majored in Math and worked in the college computer center. She started managing in the early '90s and got an MBA. She became a quality manager (at TRW, now Northrop Grumman) in 2001 and started working in software quality for satellite programs at that time.

She also got her Six Sigma Black Belt around then, and her first projects were focused on software defects.  She now works for McKenna Principals as a Systems Engineer working on improving DevOps processes for a secure Big Data project.
