Program Summary:

This presentation will prove that Internal Auditing is a beneficial practice that should and can be included in quality management regardless if a company holds a quality certification such as ISO 9001.  By conducting internal audits at regularly planned intervals, companies will discover more opportunities for improvement.  Internal auditing will also reveal if desired goals and objectives can be met utilizing the existing practices or if changes are warranted.  Conducting internal audits using process-auditing techniques is a way to monitor the effectiveness of procedures and documented work instructions.  Our discussion will provide tips from start to finish for successful audits, managing the outcomes and relating the results back to strategic planning.  

Speaker Biography:  Ms. Felicia Reed

 As Director of Quality for Harte-Hanks, Data Services Group, Ms. Felicia Reed focuses on ensuring excellence in the company’s delivery of data services to clients in multiple vertical markets.  Harte-Hanks is a worldwide, marketing company that provides direct and targeted marketing services to a wide range of local, national, and international consumer and business-to-business markets.  Ms. Reed relies on industry standards, best-practices including internal auditing as well as balanced scorecard techniques to support Hart-Hanks strategic objectives.

Ms. Reed is a Certified Lead Quality Auditor and Certified Continual Improvement Associate.  In 2006, she was appointed by Maryland State Senators and the University of Maryland to the 2006 Maryland Performance Excellence Awards’ Board of Examiners.
