Cloud based architectures dominate the IT space, and there is no more disruptive technology than an Open Source Cloud.  In the short time it has been around, OpenStack has begun to turn the IT world on its head, and further advances in open source networking and storage technologies in combination with this software will have profound implications in the years to come.

Pat Holben is the Chief Technology Officer of Zot Inc., an IT consulting firm specializing in supporting the Intelligence community.  Concentrating on support to the National Security Agency, Pat has developed IT architectures from the early days of Sun Microsystems and multiple other Unix Operating systems.  Making the jump from Unix to Linux, Pat was early to recognize the potential of virtualized systems, obtaining a VMware Certified Professional license number of 39.  Developing rapidly provisioned and deployed systems, Pat has helped NSA customers move to a virtualized architecture.  Transitioning form Military Intelligence in the U.S. army, he made the leap to IT, obtaining a Masters in Information systems from the University of Maryland.  Today Pat guides Zot Inc. through the maze of new technologies to provide the best support to their customers.
