There is no cost to attend at McLean, Silver Spring

The presentation will cover a review of fundamentals related to Cybersecurity law, policy and ethics. It will also examine the software code of ethics and Virtue Ethics, as well as, discuss Federal and state laws and regulations related to cybersecurity and privacy. Lastly it will consider respective standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures related to good governance, risk management and compliance.

 Kelly Yamaguchi CISSP, has experience with all phases of the systems development life-cycle.  Positions held include Principal Consultant, IT Manager, Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance Contractor (SETA), and Programmer/ Analyst. She has been a contributor to informal and formal IT security risk management decision-making boards, within private industry and Federal Government and has additional experience with writing and testing database security controls and auditing.

Prof.  Yamaguchi includes addressing security in all the IT courses that she teaches. Class taught recently at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) and Strayer University include Network Security Basics, Systems Development, Database Design and Development, Cyber Security Law and introductory IT courses that include web development.  Additionally, as a volunteer for ISSA, she taught CISSP certification preparation class on Access Controls (Nov 11).

Ms. Yamaguchi earned her MS in Information Systems Technology with a concentration in systems development in 2003 from George Washington University and finished all courses and comprehensive exams for degree program in Information Assurance Policy at the University of Fairfax, where her  dissertation research was on information systems threat modeling for sec. requirements engineering.

She has been a member of ISSA, ISACA, IEEE, ACM, ISC2 and OWASP. As a volunteer for ISSA, she taught CISSP certification preparation class on Access Controls (Nov 11).  She has spoken for ASQ 509 in the past as well as was a speaker at the Roundtable on Risk Management at the 2007 as well as the 2008 Techno Security Conference.
