Mobile Security: The Risk We All Carry

The staggering growth of smart mobile devices has changed the way we work, play, and communicate.  However, this growth has not gone unnoticed by bad actors wielding or subverting mobile device software for economic, political, or social gain, and your mobile device is an increasingly juicy target.  This presentation will review the unique risks introduced to consumers and enterprises through the use of mobile devices, followed by a discussion of the innovative strategies that have been developed to combat these risks. 

Alex Gladd, a graduate of Penn State University’s College of Engineering with a degree in Computer Science, has over 10 years of experience as a professional software engineer.  Prior to his current role as a forward-deployed engineer with Lookout, he worked in engineering roles for Raytheon IIS and Raytheon BBN.  He specializes in Android device and application security research, including malware analysis and reverse engineering.  Alex was a past presenter at the Malware Technical Exchange Meeting and was published in the inaugural issue of the Journal of Sensitive Cyber Research and Engineering.
