Presentation Overview: Personal Career Development as a Quality Professional
Personal Career Development as a Quality Professional is about career planning and preparation for advancement at any stage in ones career. The presenter advocates that all quality professionals have a plan for their career and a strategy for executing the plan. This is not the same as participating in career development programs that employers might have. The difference is that employers are trying to optimize staff performance to improve business results, while this presentation is directed to individual quality professionals to motivate them to have successful and personally rewarding careers. Presentation topics include:
Career areas and roles for quality professionals
Skill sets needed for different fields and roles
 Sources of learning and experience
Leadership and personal communication in a successful career
 Identifying impediments to performance
 Survival, security, and self-satisfaction
 Clear thinking, values, and commitment
How to get the most from ASQ membership
