Lightening Talks from the Trenches is modeled after the TED talk, a short, powerful talk under 18 minutes, used to spread ideas, insights, and life lessons learned on just about any topic related to lean and six sigma in the professional arena.
Ms. Janet Geduldig Cook holds a B.A. in Linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley, M.A. degrees in Speech Pathology and Audiology from San Diego State University, and a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Maryland. She's worked in the public and private sectors as a case manager, store manager and project manager. At a University of Maryland language research center, she conducted meta-analyses of creativity research and developed content of a divergent thinking test used by the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. She loves sharing ways to increase workplace creativity and work satisfaction.
She will be speaking on The Creative Edge--Unleashing and Applying Your Innate Creativity.
Ms. Kristine Hejna majored in math and still likes math and likes to study. She also has an MBA and a batch of professional certifications, including ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt. She has been working more as a Master Black Belt recently and wants to offer some ideas to help out with the measure and math part of process improvement.
She will be speaking on Measuring when something is hard to Quantify.
Dr. Danny Moore is an information systems engineer with the MITRE Corporation’s Center of Connected Government. His dissertation was on the topic of whether a big data strategy makes a difference in the adoption of this technology in the federal agencies.
He has been with the MITRE Corporation for six years having done trusted advisor work for DOD, IRS, VA, CMS/HHS (including Medicare and FDA). He is working on a fifth degree in healthcare and his wife hopes that it will be his last.
He also has a number of professional certifications in project management and process improvement that include lean and six sigma (that includes Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt). His career spans over 30+ years with Rockwell Collins, United Airlines, Thermo Fisher, Agilent Technologies, Compaq Computer, and Baker Hughes and has traveled throughout Europe, China, Singapore and Japan.
He will be speaking on his recent Healthcare Trip to Nicaragua 2016.
