An introduction to the state of software/hardware asset management approaches and offerings. Discussion of best practices, use cases for security and managing software license cost, and new research and future standards promote application security in process.

David L. Morse, CISSP, works for the MITRE Corporation, based in McLean, Virginia. Since joining MITRE in 2014, Dave has supported US Government sponsors on projects ranging from implementing threat intelligence sharing to architecting enterprise cyber strategy. Currently he's leading efforts with an industry consortium intended to promote adoption of software identification tags in the marketplace. Previously, Dave worked in network construction, threat analysis and taught technology courses. He has degrees in philosophy, management, and computer science.
