Certified Quality Auditor Refresher Course  

Course Title: Blended-Learning Certified Quality Auditor Refresher Course                                           

Overview: ASQ Section 0509 is pleased to offer an online refresher course that provides quality professionals with foundational quality auditing concepts, tools, and techniques; and prepares him/her to take the American Society for Quality’s (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) exam.  The course is designed to provide foundational quality auditing information using Quality Council of Indiana’s Certified Quality Auditor Primer, pre-recorded lectures, and live webinars. The live webinars review concepts covered in the Primer and discussed in the pre-recorded lectures to ensure understanding.                 

Expectations:    1) Watch pre-recorded lectures and read Primer assignments prior to live webinars 2) Take weekly electronic quizzes within specified time-frames 3) During live webinars: Take pre- and post-polls and participate by posting and responding to questions.   4) Have access to internet, and computer/device to be able to view live webinars real-time.                        

Timing: The course consists of pre-recorded sessions and live webinars. The webinars run for 4 consecutive Thursdays from September 7th to 28th for 2-hour sessions. Each session will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM EST.  All sessions will be recorded and available for viewing to participants until the end of the exam window (October 22, 2017).

Tuition: $495 for registrations received by September 1, 2017

Instructor Bio:   This is the sixth year, Ms. Menzies has taught the CQA Refresher course for ASQ Section 509.  Ms. Menzies has been a senior member of ASQ since 2001. With over 24 years of experience, Ms. Menzies has held quality-related positions at Biocon, Inc.; Otsuka Maryland Research Institute; TherImmune Research Corporation; and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Ms. Menzies current position uses her knowledge of auditing and project management to improve internal business processes at the FDA.  In addition to auditing for compliance to Good Clinical Practice and Good Laboratory Practice regulations and ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards, Ms. Menzies has hosted FDA and EPA inspections, and ISO audits.                               

Course Materials: We will be using certification materials from the Quality Council of Indiana.  Required materials for the course are: • CQA Primer, 8th edition (June, 2012) - $70 • Solution Text - $35 • CQA Exam CD - $70. The solutions text and CD-ROM from the Quality Council of Indiana are optional yet highly recommended. Note: These costs do not include tax, shipping, or handling. Testing Window: October 6 – 22, 2017. Application deadline is September 8th.  Exam Application: Complete the exam application directly with National ASQ at https://asq.org/cert/quality-auditor. ASQ CQA Exam Cost: $498 for non-members, $348 for members.   Join ASQ and save! Exam applicants are responsible for meeting ASQ's certification requirements.                                  

Course Withdrawal Policy: The policy for the Web-based CQA course starting September 7, 2017: If you need to cancel your registration or withdraw from the course, we will refund your paid registration fee as follows: 1. Requests for cancellations/withdrawal received by September 1, 2017, receive a full refund. 2. Requests received by September 11, 2017, incurs a 25% processing fee. 3. There are no refunds past September 11, 2017.
