Summary
The blockchain has been a hot phrase in all social media recently, and people have been talking about it for years. The crypto is also a very controversial topic in different countries. In this presentation, we will trace back the history of blockchain, explain its general concepts and working models, dive into its technologies, and explore its potential and use cases in our modern social society.
Last month, the blockchain industry welcomed the major news of Facebook issuing Libra coins. We will explain why Facebook wants to issue crypto coins and discuss the phenomenon of crypto industry.
Speakers
Mr. Ren Shan has been in IT industry for over 20 years, and is an experienced blockchain practitioner and lead. Ren’s expertise covers cloud infrastructure, IoT, and AI/machine learning. Currently he leads a few IT R&D projects for one of largest IT companies. Mr. Shan is also the CEO of Cabin John Consulting, a government IT subcontractor.
Mr. Shan received his degrees of MBA from JHU and MS of Computer Science from TTU & Shanghai Jiaotong University. In his leisure time, he has been playing with the Raspberry Pi for years.
