Please join us at our next ISO 9000 Users Group Meeting on Wednesday, January 10th, when Mr. Richard Gillis will talk about
"The ISO 9000 Standards: What's new for 2008?"
The meeting held at our NEW location, QSS Group, Inc., 4500 Forbes Blvd., Lanham, MD 20706. The meeting will start at 5:30 pm. Attendees are invited to participate in the networking as well as the free pizza and soft drink portion of the meeting. Advanced registration is not required.
Speaker Bio:
Richard J. Gillis is President, Managing Director and Principal Consultant at QMS Solutions, LLC. He is a certified quality management system consultant and an accredited QMS lead internal auditor. He has extensive experience in the implementation and assessment of quality management systems and has assisted a number of engineering and technology oriented companies achieve ISO 9000 registration, all on their first attempt. He is considered to be an expert on the ISO 9000 Standard and is an instructor and lecturer on quality management at the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He is also frequently invited to present seminars and make presentations on the ISO 9000 standard to companies, government departments and agencies and trade associations.
Richard has enjoyed a varied and distinguished career as an engineer, an engineering manager, a program manager and a business development executive both at the Thiokol Corporation and with Booz, Allen and Hamilton. Most importantly, he spent many years as an entrepreneur having owned and operated both large and small technical and non-technical companies. He has always maintained a high level of competence in the principles of Total Quality Management and has consistently applied these same principles at all of his corporate affiliations and for the benefit of his clients.
He received his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and studied toward his Masters Degree in Business Administration at the University of Delaware. He is a member of the American Society for Quality where he serves on the ISO 9000 Conference Committee, the Standards Information Group and the Government Division. He is also a member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
