Program Summary:

The United States Army must answer the Nation�s Call for Defense against the backdrop of an ever changing and increasingly dynamic spectrum of challenges including global force commitments as well as corporate imperatives.  Leveraging business transformation and continuous process improvement methodologies is a critical factor toward achieving the enterprise-level synchronization and efficiencies required for success.  This presentation will highlight some of the greater challenges facing the Army, its history of transformation over the last decade or so, and how business transformation efforts, particularly employment of continuous process improvement thru Lean Six Sigma, is making a difference.              

 Speaker Biography:  Colonel Nicholas C. Amodeo

Colonel Amodeo is the United States Army�s Lean Six Sigma Program Director. Prior to this he served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, G5, for the Army Reserve and was also the Executive Officer for Chief Army Reserve and Commanding General United States Army Reserve Command.

Colonel Amodeo brings over 30 years of military experience in a variety of operational and technical assignments, including the strategic oversight of major programs and resources, to the process transformation and improvement arena.  He has held positions in the Army Reserve Readiness Training Center, Personnel Command (PERSCOM), Program Analysis and Evaluation Directorate, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G8, and on the Army Realignment Task Force under the auspices of the Deputy Undersecretary of the Army.

Colonel Amodeo holds Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology, a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from Boston University, a Master of Science degree in Applied Statistics and Operations Research from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Master of Science degree in Vocational Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.  He is a graduate of the Air War College, Command and General Staff College, as well as the Logistics Executive Development Course
