Program Summary:
Implementing best practices in information services can result in organizational changes. The impact of these changes on the people involved can be lessened if Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and other frameworks are used to structure the implementation.
Speaker Biography: Marjorie Eyre
Ms. Eyre is an IT analyst for systems engineering and enterprise architecture. Her expertise crosses multiple agencies and subject matter providing her a global perspective as a creative problem-solver, researcher, and innovative thinker. She has created and facilitated network change management (capturing ITIL processes) for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (saving them $1 million yearly) and IRS. She analyzed and assisted in writing the overarching strategic framework for the Architect of the Capitol’s emergency preparedness, response, and recovery plan. She analyzed network engineering requirements, and created the system architecture for a Web-based multi-database system for IRS Network Management Center. She was manager of a team supporting systems engineers for small explorer satellites and Space Station Freedom for 6+ years, which included facilitating international conferences for NASA/GSFC. She developed the marketing plan and promotional materials for a direct sales company, and managed 75 sales managers across 20 states.
Ms. Eyre’s subject matter expertise includes: ITIL process development, communication and listening theory; emergency management and preparedness; process improvement; policy and change management; information assurance, COOP, security, and risk management; training; and Web-based systems and database development. She has compiled over 25 years writing experience covering the spectrum of system life cycle development processes and publications. She has provided executive-level support to customers at DHS Infrastructure and USCIS, NIH, IRS, NGB, AOC, PFPA, and GSFC/NASA.
Ms. Eyre has a BS degree in Communications Studies, University of Maryland University College. She has an ITIL Foundations Certificate.
