Program Summary:

Presentation of a successful case study of establishing Quality Center of Excellence (Q CoE) from idea to full fledged working system in a global company, SAIC. The presentation will detail the SAIC Quality Center of Excellence, which is the official virtual resource command center for quality assurance and quality control for the benefit of all SAIC employees with an established charter, mission, and goals, and this resource command center contains quality document templates, events, related links, and discussions related to quality initiatives across the corporation.   The presentation starts with the introduction of SAIC, all stages of development of Quality CoE, and ends with the lessons learned, of course a Q/A session.

Speaker Biography:  Anita Carlos

Ms. Carlos graduated from the Texas A&M in Mathematics with Graduate Studies from Troy State University and the University of Nebraska.   She has received numerous awards and accolades from SAIC and various customers throughout the Department of Defense. She is a Certified Quality Analyst from the Quality Assurance Institute and also a member of the ASQ. 

Ms. Carlos has over twenty-five years work experience in systems/software engineering, program management and Quality Assurance, Quality Management, Configuration Management, earned value project management, performance-based acquisitions, performance measurements, and process improvement, and metrics analysis and collection.

Ms. Carlos is currently responsible for maintaining, and implementing the Quality Assurance, Configuration Management, and Process Improvement Programs for the Analysis, Simulations, Systems Engineering, and Training (ASSET) Business Unit in SAIC which has 2,200 employees.  Ms. Carlos directs, manages and assists 42 Quality Assurance, Configuration Management, and Process Improvement personnel.  She chairs her Business Unit Process and Technology Steering Committee and participates on the SAIC Defense Solutions Group and Corporate Systems and Software Process Groups and was responsible for establishing and currently maintains the SAIC Quality Center of Excellence.
