Program Summary:

Today, more than ever, organizations are held accountable for their performance with respect to goals and fiduciary responsibilities. Therefore, maintaining the momentum for a high-performing government organization is no longer an option. The only question that remains is what methodology will be used to achieve and sustain such status? An approach for implementing ISO 9001 complemented by performance metrics best practices, guidance on how performance metrics informs the current state, and will offer strategic information toward a desired future state. This presentation will also include practical application information and lessons learned in direct support of a meaningful implementation.

Speaker Biography:

Laura Cottingham is currently working for Booz Allen Hamilton as a Quality Manager. She has over two decades of experience in business process improvement, diversity management, and personnel staffing, which she blends to help organizations achieve targeted results. Laura has a B.S. in Management Studies and a M.S. in Quality Systems Management. She is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational

Excellence (ASQ-CMQ/OE), and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by PMI. Laura is currently pursuing an additional certification as a Government Performance Manager. She has served as a Maryland Performance Excellence Awards (MPEA) Examiner, and is currently serving as a Washington State Quality Awards (WSQA) Examiner. Laura also Chairs Section 509�s Performance Excellence Special Interest Group.
