ASQ Section 509 is pleased to offer a refresher course for quality management professionals who want to prepare for the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Exam administered by the American Society for Quality.

Dates: The course will be run 6 sessions (24 hours) on six Saturdays: August 29; September 13, 20, 27; October 3, 10. Classes will be held from 8am to Noon.
Instructor: Cathy Oliveri, ASQ Section 509.
Ms. Oliveri is a Member of the ASQ with over 20 years experience in software and systems development. She has held quality related positions at IBM, the SAS Institute, and Lockheed Martin, and is currently a Program Analyst for Operational Process and Performance Metrics for the TSA. She is a Master Black Belt and holds ASQ certifications as a Six Sigma Black Belt, Software Quality Engineer, and Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence.
Tuition: $325 payable to ASQ 509, which is offering the course.

Course Approach: We'll begin by reviewing the list of topics in the CSSBB Body of Knowledge and the level at which each topic will be tested. Each class will consist of a review of sample questions, accompanied by more detailed focus on selected qualitative and quantitative areas according to the needs of the participants. The course will also have a dedicated web site where participants can download supplemental materials and post questions.
Credit: This course does not carry CEU or academic credit.

ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt Exam Information:
Dates: Exam date is Saturday, October 17, 2009. Application deadline is August 21, 2009. Late registration with additional fee ($50)
Location: Exam location is in the Maryland suburbs of Washington D.C. Applicants will be notified of location and time by National ASQ.
Exam Application: Application for the exam is done directly with National ASQ (http://www.asq.org/certification/six-sigma/apply.html).
Please note that to qualify to take the exam, you must either submit two completed work projects with signed affidavits or one project with a signed affidavit and three years of work experience as it pertains to the Body of Knowledge.
CSSBB Exam Cost: $420 for non-members, $260 for members. Join ASQ and save! Exam applicants are responsible for meeting ASQ's certification requirements.
