Many organizations, companies and government agencies are utilizing virtual technology for meetings in 3D, immersive training and simulations. The speaker will present the virtual venue, being pursued by the IEEE Computer Society in Second Life, that can and will bring these benefits to a global audience with greater convenience for next generation technical presentations. The environment, plans, advantage and potential of this technology will be discussed and, if possible, demonstrated. If time allows, we can discuss other players, apparent opportunity, roadmaps and ongoing projects.
