ASQ Section 509 is offering a refresher course for quality professionals who want to prepare for the Quality Auditor Certification Exam administered by the American Society for Quality.

Location: Prince George's Community College (PGCC), Main Campus, Largo, MD.

Dates:  Course will run 8 weeks (20 hours) on Tuesday evenings from April 13 � June 1.  Actual dates April 13, 20, 27; May 4, 11, 18, 25; June 1.

Time: 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm, room to be announced.

Tuition: $300 plus $7 registration payable to Prince George's Community College.

Credit: PGCC will award 2.0 CEU for successful completion of the course.

On-line:  Go to http://www.pgcc.edu/.  Click on "Owl Link" and then on "Workforce Development and Continuing Ed Students."  Under �Cont. Edu. Registration,� click on �Register for Cont. Ed. Courses.�  In the Course Code Number Block enter the Course No. and submit.  Complete the registration form and provide payment information.   

In Person: Mon - Thu: 8:30 am - 8:00 pm or Fri: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm in Bladen Hall, Room 126 on the main campus in Largo, MD.

Registration must be completed the day before the first class.

Instructors: Joe Ludford and Tony Ingelido, ASQ Section 509.
Mr. Ludford has over 45 years of technical and management experience in the product assurance and systems engineering fields.  Mr. Ludford is a Senior Member of ASQ, and a past chair and education chair of the Washington, DC-Maryland Metro Section.  He is a Certified Quality Auditor and has 4 other ASQ certifications.

Mr. Ingelido has over 20 years of technical and management experience in process improvement and quality systems development.  He is a three term MBNQA Examiner, and is a Certified Quality Auditor and Certified Six Sigma Black Belt by ASQ.  He has trained over 2,500 students in quality principles and other managerial and technical courses.

Required Material: From the Quality Council of Indiana - CQA Primer - $65 plus shipping of $8-10.

Optional Material: From ASQ Quality Press - The ASQ Quality Auditing Handbook, Third Edition - $84 for ASQ members; The Internal Auditing Pocket Guide - Preparing, Performing, and Reporting - $15 for ASQ members.

CQA Exam Information

Date: Saturday, June 5.  Exam Application deadline Friday, April 16, 2010.  Late registration deadline Wednesday April 21, 2010 with additional fee ($50).

Location/Time: Exam location is in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC.  Applicants will be notified of location and time by National ASQ.

Application: Application for the exam is done directly with ASQ http://www.asq.org/certification/apply.html.  Application must be done on-line or by fax or mail postmarked no later than the deadline or late deadline. 

Exam Cost: $390 for non-members, $240 for members.  Can apply and join ASQ at the same time.

Education/Experience Requirement:  You must have eight years of on-the-job experience in one or more of the areas of the Certified Quality Auditor Body of Knowledge. A minimum of three years of this experience must be in a decision-making position. �Decision-making� is defined as the authority to define, execute, or control projects/processes and to be responsible for the outcome. This may or may not include management or supervisory positions. If you have a degree from a college, university, or technical school with accreditation accepted by ASQ, part of the experience requirement may be waived.  Exam applicants are responsible for meeting ASQ's certification requirements.  Check the ASQ website http://www.asq.org/certification/ for more information.
