Presentation Summary: �Human Retrovirus Infection � AIDS and Other Diseases � Quality Research, Science, and Challenges�
Decades of AIDS research have been providing us a clear understanding that AIDS is treatable. Discussion will be made on the quality research, science, challenges, and issues of human retrovirus infections.
Speaker Biography: Kuan-Tech Jeang, MD, PhD
Dr. Jeang received his BA, MD, and PhD degrees from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD. Since 1985, Dr. Jeang has been with the NIH and currently is the Head of the Molecular Virology Section in the Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology, NIAID.
Dr. Jeang has published over 250 peer-reviewed articles, been cited over 11,500 times, and has a Hirsch-index (H-index) of 59. His research interests focus on the gene regulation of HIV and how HTLV-1 causes leukemia. He is a three-term editorial board member of the Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC); the Editor-in-Chief of Retrovirology; an elected fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP); an Academician of Academia Sinica of Taiwan, ROC; and the President of the Society of Chinese Bioscientists in America (SCBA; www.scbasociety.org). Dr. Jeang was a recent past Councilor and the current co-chair for the National Meeting of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). Dr. Jeang is also the 2009 recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Award for Distinguished Government Service from the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Association, and more than 35 of his postdoctoral mentees are now work around the world.

Turn left (west) immediately onto Standish Place.
The first 3-fllor building on your right side is 7519 Standish Place; open parking. The conference room is on the first floor of 7529 building (the next adjacent building) with its entrance opposite to the left side of 7519 building main entrance.
