Program Summary:

Beginning in 2008, Southern Management Corporation embarked on a comprehensive improvement program using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Criteria.  On October 5, 2011, the team was awarded with the Platinum Award by the Maryland Performance Excellence Award Program, the highest level of recognition for performance that any organization can receive from the State of Maryland.  Ms Ahluwalia will describe how a large team of employees and leaders achieved dramatic business impacts such as growth in net income and investor return, higher customer satisfaction, higher employee satisfaction, improved return on investment, and no layoffs.

Speaker Biography:

Michele Ahluwalia is the Strategic Planning Manager with Southern Management Corporation. Michele Ahluwalia has over 14 years of experience in marketing and strategic planning. She is involved in Southern Management Corporation's strategy formulation, communication and execution, as well as the organization's process improvement initiatives and implementation of performance excellence methodologies. Southern Management Corporation is the largest property management company in the Mid-Atlantic region, comprised of approximately 25,000 apartments, and 1,500,000 square feet of office/commercial space in the Maryland and Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, and the Baltimore region.
