This one-day course offers an introductory review of the Criteria for Performance Excellence. lt is designed for individuals who wish to be proficient in the Criteria either as a means for self-assessment and improvement or to facilitate their organizations' application for Baldrige-based awards.

Attendees will be guided through the Criteria, starting with the Organizational Profile and progressing through the Process Categories (Leadership; Strategic Planning; Customer Focus; Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management; Workforce Focus; and Operations Focus) and the Results Category of the Criteria. Specifically, attendees will gain an understanding of the terminology used by the Criteria (translating "Baldrige-speak" into plain English). They will learn what the Criteria require at the various levels of requirements (Basic; Overall; and Multiple).

Attendees will also understand the relationships among the Organizational Profile (the "key business factors" the organization considers important to its operations and its success), the Process Categories (how the organization addresses its "key factors" enumerated in the Organizational Profile), and its business Results (how well the organization is addressing those "key factors").

The session will include opportunities for attendees to ask questions and to discuss the topics covered.
