Program Summary:

Let’s face it: most presentations are HORRIBLE!

You sit there watching way-too-many words drip off of awkwardly designed “slides,” delivered by a robot reading you bullet points you could easily, um -- read yourself. You WANT to care; you try DESPARATELY to pay attention. But all you hear is “blah blah blah” and all you can think of is whatever happened to that cute girl or guy you knew in school and “hey isn’t it about time for my next dental appointment?”

It doesn’t have to be that way! In a presentation featuring an unbelievable ZERO bullet points, an award-winning speaker will share 20 tips on how to deliver an effective, memorable, and yes even rock’n presentation.

You’ll learn how to:

• Structure your presentation in a way to make people actually CARE
• Create slides that COMPLIMENT, rather than compete with, the words you’re saying
• Speak comfortably and CONVINCINGLY, using the one secret delivery technique that matters the most.

Speaker Biography:
Bill Smith is President and CEO of Leading Edge Process Consultants, a small CMMI Institute Partner in Vienna, Virginia.

Bill has 28 years of experience in the engineering and management of software intensive systems, and is one of the country’s best-known and most highly regarded CMMI advocates. Bill has an M.S. in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University.

But for this talk, none of that matters.

What matters is that he’s passionate about training. He’s known for his wry sense of humor, amusing yet relevant anecdotes, and ultra-high levels of student satisfaction.  As a CMMI Institute-Certified Instructor, Bill has taught Introduction to CMMI 77 times to over 1300 students at 43 locations across America.

Even more importantly, he has a history of delivering presentations that rock. He’s been honored with an Outstanding Presentation award at every National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) CMMI Technology Conference since 2008. (At least, until they stopped giving out awards in 2011!) Most recently, he was asked to develop and deliver the presentation you’ll be seeing this evening to an audience of over 200 people at the annual CMMI Workshop in St. Petersburg, Florida, this past October; nobody napped.
