ASQ Section 509 is pleased to offer a refresher course for quality professionals who want to prepare for the Quality Auditor Certification Exam administered by the American Society for Quality. The CQA Body of Knowledge will be reviewed and participants will be given a sample exam questions throughout the course. This will help them identify topics they should concentrate on as they prepare for the actual exam. Levels of cognition will be reviewed and their use in defining the intended complexity of multiple choice test questions will be identified.

Dates: The course will consist of six 4-hour sessions (24 classroom hours). Sessions will be on Saturdays from 8am to Noon.

Instructors:
Sandra Menzies, MS, CMQ/OE, CQA
Ms. Menzies has been a senior member of ASQ since 2001. Ms. Menzies has held quality-related positions with Biocon, Inc., Otsuka Maryland Research Institute, TherImmune Research Corporation, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She is currently the Quality Manager for the Managed Review Process within the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Review within the FDA. She holds a Masterís of Science in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University and ASQ Certifications as Quality Auditor, and Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.
Ray Miller, CGEIT, CMQ/OE, CQA, PMP
Ray Miller is a senior technologist with extensive experience supporting business and IT leadership to ensure that IT is aligned with business strategy and objectives, and products and services are fit for intended purpose or use.
Specific areas of expertise include formulating IT quality strategies and measures to support business goals, applying Lean and Six Sigma techniques to maximize product effectiveness and product development efficiencies, evaluating work products at various life cycle stages to ascertain conformance with specifications, conducting process audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of process controls, and mentoring clients and team members in best practices to foster a culture of quality.
Rayís validated knowledge of key IT standards, models and frameworks include COBIT, ITIL, PMBoK, CMMI, NIST and ISO. In addition to his CGEIT, CMQ/OE, CQA and PMP designations, Ray is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality, a Silver Member of the ISACA Greater DC chapter and a member of the Association of Enterprise Architects.
Tuition: $395 payable to ASQ 509, which is offering the course.

ASQ CQA Exam Information:
Dates: Exam date is Saturday, June 1, 2013. Application deadline is April 12, 2013.
Location: Exam location is in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC. Applicants will be notified of location and time by National ASQ.
Exam Application: Application for the exam is done directly with National ASQ (http://prdweb.asq.org/certification/control/quality-auditor/index).
CQA Exam Cost: $419 for non-members, $269 for members. Join ASQ and save! Exam applicants are responsible for meeting ASQs certification requirements.
