Program Summary: Let�s look at strategic planning in depth and detail. Where do we start?  The vision, mission and core values of an organization should drive the strategic plan. What if they don�t?  How do we reconnect the process?  How do we make sure the strategic plan becomes a working document that is monitored and regularly revised, according to the Plan-Do-Study-Act model?  This presentation is designed to be interactive and to have participants share their experiences with the strategic planning process, including specific tools and templates that were successfully implemented.

Speaker Bio: Stefanie Karp, Organizational Improvement Analyst for Alexandria City Public Schools; Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is one of the most diverse public school districts in Northern Virginia, which is a challenge and makes the job of improving the organization particularly interesting.  Stefanie Karp has 15 years of experience as a consultant in various industries: manufacturing, technology, consumer goods, and education.  Her areas of expertise lie in strategic planning and process improvement.  2013 marks her first year as a Baldrige national examiner; in December 2012, she was the Official Contact Person for a Collaborative Assessment of ACPS performed by the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program.
