Speaker Biography: Ralph (Rip) Stauffer

Rip Stauffer uses his extensive experience in Total Quality and Six Sigma to educate and counsel all levels from the boardroom to the line, driving strategic success and delivering exceptional results. He has specific experience in government, manufacturing, medical devices, financial services and healthcare organizations, saving these organizations hundreds of millions of dollars.

Rip is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality, and is a Certified Quality Engineer, Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence, Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt. He is also a member of the ASQ Statistics Division. He is a faculty member at Walden University, teaching graduate and undergraduate business statistics courses and international business courses.

Presentation Overview: �Your World is not Red or Green; Your Dashboards Shouldn�t be, Either"

Dashboards have gained a lot of popularity over the past several years as a way to summarize important metrics for managers and executives. Some are very good and useful, some are mediocre, and some actually drive harmful or wasteful behavior. This presentation will discuss the ins and outs of business and operational dashboards, talk about things to avoid and why, and present some basic principles of graphic presentation and quality management that should inform your dashboards and make them more effective tools for management.

Plenty of time will be allocated for interactive discussions during the presentation and the speaker promises to follow up with answers to challenges which cannot be met during the ASQ 509 meeting.
